Your Home Has Been Inspected & Carpet Beetles Have Been Found. To Ensure an Effective Treatment, The Following Steps Must Be Completed Prior To Service:
Preparation Requirements
- MOVE FURNITURE (where possible) approximately 12 inches away from walls and vacuum thoroughly behind each item. We recommend discarding vacuum bags immediately, or adding baking soda or Diatomaceous Earth* to the bag to control any insects collected. This same recommendation applies to bagless vacuums.
- REMOVE AS MANY BELONGINGS AS POSSIBLE from carpeted areas. Vacuum under all area rugs
- REMOVE CARPET STAIR RUNNERS, if possible, and vacuum underneath them
- CLEAR OUT CLOSETS where applicable and move items to a nonservice area. Wash all clothing in hot, soapy water or have delicate items professionally cleaned. (This includes fabric and taxidermy ornaments. Professional cleaning is recommended. If not possible, inspect ornaments for signs of activity. If activity is present, brush or vacuum the items and place them in a sealed bag with moth balls for at least 30 days. Follow label directions for proper moth ball use.)
- REMOVE ALL CURTAINS AND DRAPERIES. Wash in hot, soapy water or have delicate items professionally cleaned.
- FOR CRAWL SPACE OR ATTICS, tarp any belongings unless already stored in bins, and position them away from walls.
- PROFESSIONALLY LAUNDER ANY BELONGINGS made of natural or mixed fibers.
- VACUUM ALL BASEBOARDS, MOLDINGS, PICTURE FRAMES, FLOORS, AND RUGS throughout the treatment area.
- If activity is present in bedding or if bedding contains natural fibers, STRIP ALL BEDS and wash linens in hot, soapy water. Leave beds UNDRESSED for service.
- REMOVE ALL ITEMS FROM COUCHES to allow for full inspection and treatment.
- THOROUGHLY VACUUM ALL CARPETS, including areas under rugs and runners when accessible. Remove the vacuum bag, seal it in a plastic bag, and discard outdoors. Again, you may discard immediately or add baking soda or Diatomaceous Earth to control pests. Applies to bagless vacuums as well.
- For RENTAL PROPERTIES, please provide these instructions to
tenants AT LEAST 72 HOURS BEFORE SERVICE.
During Service
- ALL PEOPLE AND PETS MUST VACATE the premises during treatment.
- You may return 4 HOURS AFTER SERVICE or 24 HOURS IF PREGNANT.
