Your Home Has Been Inspected & Fleas Have Been Found. To Ensure a Quick & Effective Treatment, the Following Steps Must Be Completed Prior To Service:
Before Treatment: Preparation Requirements
- CLEAR ALL CARPETED FLOORS, including closets, of boxes and other items.
- WASH ALL PET BEDDING in hot water or discard it. If discarding, seal bedding inside a plastic bag before placing it in the trash.
- MOP WOOD, TILE, AND VINYL FLOORS.
- VACUUM PET SLEEPING AND RESTING AREAS, including underneath furniture and deep into cracks and crevices in floors and draperies.
- If you have cats, clean WINDOW SILLS AND APPLIANCE TOPS where they rest.
- VACUUM ALL FURNITURE, especially between and under cushions.
- EMPTY THE VACUUM CONTENTS into a plastic bag, seal it tightly, and dispose of it outdoors immediately
- REMOVE DEBRIS OUTDOORS around doghouses, the perimeter of the home, and in bushes where pets rest. Dispose of debris properly.
- BEFORE TREATMENT, REMOVE PETS FROM THE HOME.
- Store or cover all food.
- Cover fish bowls and fish tanks completely.
- ARRANGE FOR ALL PETS (dogs, cats, or any animals
affected by fleas) to be treated THE SAME DAY the home
is professionally treated.
Post Treatment Follow-Up: Requirements
- People and pets MAY NOT ENTER TREATED SURFACES OR AREAS FOR 4–6 HOURS, or until all floor surfaces are completely dry.
- Once the material has dried thoroughly, FISH TANKS AND BOWLS MAY BE UNCOVERED.
- DO NOT CLEAN CARPETS, FLOORS, OR FURNITURE WITH DETERGENTS OR CLEANING PRODUCTS FOR A MINIMUM 3 WEEKS AFTER TREATMENT. Detergents remove the residual product needed to eliminate emerging fleas.
- VACUUMING is encouraged as it stimulates fleas to emerge from egg capsules, as the treatment binds tightly to surfaces once dry. It is important for the occupants to remain in the structure and maintain normal activity.
Important Note About Ongoing Flea Activity
Some adult fleas may continue to hatch for UP TO TWO WEEKS OR LONGER following treatment. Fleas in the pupal stage are naturally protected from all control products and may remain viable in carpets for 14 days or more. It is normal to see a small number of fleas during this period. As they emerge, THEY WILL COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE TREATED SURFACES AND DIE.
